Biomechanical Assessment: Working with Common Soft Tissue Conditions of the Tri-Plane Hip with Rick Merriam
This workshop focuses on the hip and muscles that consistently play the biggest role in chronic low back, hip, knee and foot pain. Learn to look beyond trigger points and "tight muscles" and understand that many orthopedic conditions can be traced back to the biomechanics of human function. The right assessment tools and a different thought process will allow you to work on the "big rocks", achieving the best results in the shortest amount of time. Participants will also learn why it's not what you do, but how you do it, that makes all the difference with stretching.
Rick Merriam is a 1994 graduate of CCMT who is a NASM-CPT and AFAA Certified Personal Trainer. He has been an Applied Biomechanics Consultant for the fitness staff at Canyon Ranch, the Greenbrier Healthy Living Spa and ESPN, where he is a Massage Therapist working with sports and work-related injuries.
