Graduate Services

The Graduate Services Department is a resource and support center for students and graduates, providing placement assistance and helping them deepen their connection to one another, to the school and to the massage therapy profession. The department offers the following services:

Temporary Permits
The Graduate Services Department maintains a list of licensed massage therapists who are potential supervisors of new CCMT graduates for temporary license permits, allowing them to receive valuable mentoring while being compensated for their work within the practice. This opportunity can provide for the possibility of future employment or independent contracting opportunities for participating graduates.

Job Postings
A variety of local and out-of-state employers look to CCMT for assistance in hiring massage therapists.  Students and graduates must login in order to view these listings.  Click on My Account now to login and view the postings.

Online Massage Therapist Listing
The Online Massage Therapist Listing is available at no charge to CCMT graduates who are self-employed and looking for clientele, are seeking employment or an independent contracting arrangement, or are willing to do massage at community events. Participating graduates' names and contact information, listed on
www.ccmt.edu, is searchable by modality and zip code.  Place or update your listing now.

Business Consultations
The Graduate Services Director is available to meet one-on-one with final term students and graduates to discuss various aspects of their career goals and professional plans. This is a lifetime service provided free of charge. CCMT also has a list of Mentors available for business consultations.

Career Workshops
Periodically, CCMT sponsors educational events for its graduates, free of charge, to provide information on opportunities and developments within the field. These events may be interactive forums or panel discussions on a variety of topics, such as professional and ethical questions, employment, networking, legislative matters and current business issues.

Continuing Education
Our Continuing Education programs are designed to help you enhance your professional skills and clinical knowledge.  Our presenters are experts in their field.  They're experienced educators and clinicians with a passion for their subject.  CCMT is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education provider.

E-mail our Continuing Education department  or call (877) 282-CCMT (2268) extension 127 for additional information.  You can also register for a seminar online or download a brochure now or print a registration form.

Supplies
CCMT's Hands-On Supply, a retail and online store located at the Newington campus, caters to graduates by offering wellness products and other items necessary for life as a professional massage therapist.  The store is also open to the public.

Graduate Newsletter
Graduate Newsletters are published once per year and include news about graduates, the school, events and happenings involving the profession of massage therapy. The Grad E-News! is an electronic newsletter sent out several times a year to the graduate community.

Request a Transcript
As you develop in your career it may become necessary to provide documentation of your work at CCMT. Transcripts are provided, free of charge, to graduates who have completed placement and licensure paperwork. Please submit a Transcript Request Form.  If the institution or agency you are working with requires additional information or documentation, we will be happy to work with you.

Opportunities

Tutor Program
As an approved tutor, students or small groups may hire you to gain additional guidance in science or hands-on coursework. To be considered as an approved tutor, you must be a CCMT graduate or upper class student, who is proficient in a specific area of study. If you are interested in becoming an approved tutor, download our Tutor Application Form.

Mentor Program
A CCMT student mentor is a graduate who gives back to the CCMT community by serving as a personal and academic role model, offering peer support to students whom can use a helping hand. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Student Services at the campus in which you are interested mentoring.

Course Assistant Program
The Course Assistant Program has proven to be a unique and complimentary aspect of the CCMT educational experience - benefiting assistants, students and faculty alike. Assistants are graduates of CCMT who want to further participate in the classroom experience.  Assistants generally participate in the program for a 6-12 week period, on average, 3-4 hours per week.
